The National Tariff Commission (NTC) of Pakistan has decided to extend anti-dumping duties (AD) of up to 19.04% on imports of cold rolled rolls and sheets from China.
This protection, originally introduced in 2016 and extended in 2021, remains in place to support domestic producers such as International Steels and Aisha Steel Mills.
The measures apply to sheet iron or non-alloy steel used in household appliances and automotive parts.
The measures apply to sheet iron or non-alloy steel used in household appliances and automotive parts. While previously duties were extended to widths up to 1250 mm, NTC included in this extension several modified products with widths over 1250 mm to combat confirmed cases of duty avoidance.
Certain goods, such as black sheet rentals and some automotive exterior coatings, remain duty-free. In addition, the duties will not apply to materials used for export-oriented products or projects funded by foreign grants.
